SCS SB 650 -- MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY This bill specifies that members of the governing board of Missouri State University will serve six-year terms. The voting members of the board on August 28, 2005, will serve until the expiration of the terms for which they were appointed; and the terms of office for those appointed after August 28, 2005, will be established so that no more than three terms expire in any year. If a member changes the congressional district in which he or she resides, a unanimous vote of the board can vacate the seat. If the number of congressional districts is changed or the boundaries of any congressional district are changed in a manner that displaces a board member from the district from which he or she was appointed, the member can serve the remainder of the term for which he or she was appointed. The bill also makes other technical changes regarding the university's name change. The bill contains an emergency clause.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
